Perfidious
Mounted
picture start to be put on the walls, insights, comprehensions that must be
documented in writings, our ambivalent feeling where we want to express
ourselves through music and compositions.
Yes, we
can write, we can dictate, we can emphasize, but not all of us can influence.
If given a chance to speak about our society, all of us are big-mouthed about
it. There are many things I want to stress out. As I have marked in my recent
article, that "the predominant issue in our society today is not poverty,
but the inability to raise up men of honor, integrity and character (see
Affordaboy). In this piece, my focal point is the minor details that most
people made inattentions. We tend to see the bigger picture yet we fail to
notice the crucial points.
Jesus
said in Matthew 7:3-5 "Why do you look at
the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no
attention to the plank in your own eye? How can you say to your
brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when all the time there is a
plank in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye,
and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s
eye."
In this
verse, God stated that change starts from within us. We don’t have the right to
dictate people to do this and that if we ourselves are not in that level. The
change in your environment depends on the inner change of yourself, as Ps.
Cesar Castellanos implies "If I change, everything changes". We focus
so much on people's disability to develop them yet we forgot our own agenda.
Little knowing, we can be labeled as "hypocrites". Change is from the
inside out, and the truth is you can't do it on your own. It is beyond our
ability to do it. Change is just an overflow if we partner ourselves with God.
David
stated in this verse: "How can I know all the sins lurking in my heart?
Cleanse me from these hidden faults. Keep your servant from deliberate sins!
Don’t let them control me. Then I will be free of guilt and innocent of great
sin. Psalms 19:12-13. David understood that without God, he can't be cleansed
nor can be changed. David implied that the magnitude of sin is so powerful that
not a single person can control it. It is in our fellowship with God that we
can overcome these things.
Now the
world is dying, time pass by and it’s getting worse and the love of many will
grow cold. People have become perfidious, unloyal and unreliable. "Their
loyalty is divided between God and the world and they are unstable in
everything they do." James 1:8. People have become unstable in everything
they do and they perish for lack of vision.
During
my college days, I grew up in an environment of engineering discipline, my
parents and one of my brothers is an engineer. I took up a bachelor’s degree in
Mechanical Engineering and by the grace of God I finished and learned the
entire curriculum. Engineering was never easy for me. It's a competition of
learning. You need to have a laser like focus in studies in order to learn every
course (not just finishing but learning, you can finish even without learning).
You need to have an undivided attention to digest every discipline and training
offered in your way. But unfortunately some of my colleague didn't finish at
the said time, some of them shifted to another degree; most of them kept
repeating a course. They have divided attention; they played allot and studied
a little. They become perfidious. It makes them unstable in everything they do.
We can be like them, but because of God's vision embedded in our hearts; it
gives us the attitude to be virtuous.
Your
society brings so much demand of a man that has fear of the Lord, with
integrity and with leadership ability. It’s not about how good you were in
writing, speaking, dancing or whatever built in performance. But it’s about the
integrity that you must develop. In Psalms 78:72 "And David shepherded
them with integrity of heart; with skillful hands he led
them." Your society needs you. They need leaders. Stop being
perfidious, leave your comforts, be a challenge chaser, It is easy to change a
degree than to change your lifestyle. Connect to a church that promotes
godliness. Receive Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior. Face it, you can’t
do it on your own, you can’t save yourself. You need a savior. There’s no expanse
for doubt in this evil generation. We
are born for this.
