Fatherhood is a journey that transforms you in ways you never imagined. Each day brings new lessons and insights, shaping not just how you parent, but who you are as a person. Here are four lessons fatherhood has taught me : 1. Patience As a deeply melancholic person, I prefer things to be orderly. Now, with a child, our home is often in a mess. To a child, there’s no difference between messy and clean. Sometimes, my child cries for no apparent reason. There are times when I want to play basketball or unwind with computer games, but I can’t because of my parenting duties. Watching a movie can take four days to finish because my child is constantly following me around. Patience is essential. As a father, I’ve learned the importance of being patient.
